Defining Fun to Drive with the roof down
The Ferrari 296 GTB has made a massive impression since its debut in 2021 and now, its topless sibling - the Ferrari 296 GTS - has premiered. Ushering a new era in the brand's rich history, the 296 GTS features a V6 engine that is inspired by Maranello's sports prototypes from the 1950s. The 296 coupe and spider are also the first-ever six cylinder cars to wear the iconic Prancing Horse badge. Although the engine is more compact, the fun factor has not diminished. In fact, it is now amplified thanks to its astonishing power output. The 2.9 litre turbocharged unit delivers 663 cv and when combined with an electric motor that delivers 167 cv, a staggering total of 830 cv can be generated. That is translated into a 0-100 km/h time of 2.9 seconds and 0-200 km/h in 7.6 s. Innovative dynamic control systems and effective aerodynamics, which includes an active rear spoiler for extra downforce, keeps the car firmly planted on the road and track, making the 296 GTS a truly sporty, nimble and agile machine. In all-electric eDrive mode, the car has a 25 km range, making it very usable in urban settings. Further enhancing the joy behind the wheel, the car's Retractable Hard Top (RHT) can be deployed or folded in 14 seconds and this can be done at speeds of up to 45 km/h. The cabin is a blend of sophistication and understated luxury. Touch sensitive controls on the steering wheel and a digital dashboard highlight the brand's technology while exclusive Italian leather seats ensure that the occupants are cocooned in comfort. To get even more out of the 296 GTS, an Assetto Fiorano package is available to fully exploit the extreme power and performance of this Prancing Horse. From special GT racing-derived shock absorbers to a front bumper that delivers an extra 10 kg of downforce to extensive use of lightweight materials, the 296 GTS Assetto Fiorano is without doubt, optimised to shine on the track.
