With the Singapore Government allowing more activities to resume in the latest stage of the re-opening of the country, Ital Auto was abuzz with activity once again on Jan 30, 2021, as the inaugural Car Care Talk Series was conducted for a small group of Ferrari 458 owners.
With health and safety a top priority at the event as measures such as SafeEntry Check-in, temperature measurement and safe distancing were in place for the 16 clients who attended the three-hour session held at the Showroom.
And what really made this class a success was the enthusiasm of the participants as they asked the instructors many questions, demonstrating the passion they have for Ferrari and their desire to gain a deeper understanding of these splendid machines.
The talk on the technology and capabilities of the 458 family by Danilo Trapani, Aftersales Manager for Ferrari South-east Asia and South Korea, generated great interest from the clients, who were particularly interested in the inner workings of the cars’ Formula One-derived dual-clutch transmission as well as how launch control works. Trapani also presented a series of simple maintenance tips that owners can perform at home.
There were opportunities for some practical work too as Ital Auto’s Service Advisor Crizbert Valenzuela explained in detail the electronic features and Bluetooth functions of the 458 series. The topics of emergency recovery procedures and the Tyre Pressure Management System (TPMS) were covered by Service Advisor Rayner Wee.
Apart from a tasty lunch, the participants were also treated to a special talk from Sean Hudspeth, who appeared via live stream. The professional driver, who is also the first Singaporean to be an Official Ferrari Instructor, provided handy tips on piloting Prancing Horses around a track.
The Car Care Talk Series is an initiative by Ital Auto to engage its customers in a safe manner as the country reopens in stages amidst the current pandemic. The session was also important in explaining to the clients that only an Official Ferrari Service Centre is stocked with genuine parts from the factory and is equipped with specialised tools and proper diagnostic computers.
At the end of the session, the clients provided insightful feedback on topics they would like to see covered in future editions of the series.
